Family Recovery Support Program.

When a family is experiencing addiction recovery in one of its members, it can feel scary and overwhelming as they work to heal, both independently and together, and create their “new normal.” All members of the family, both the person experiencing substance use disorder and their loved ones, deserve love, support, and safety. But sometimes we don’t know how to get their on our own.

The Family Recovery Support Program includes (2) 2 hour meetings with Rachel and whoever you choose to invite into your community, and then Rachel will present each participant with a written Safety and Accountability Plan following our meetings. Additional and follow-up meetings are available as well, depending on family needs.

Rachel can meet with families in her office in Minnetonka, on site at the family’s home within 20 miles of Minnetonka, or virtually.

Rachel will meet with your family, and support people as applicable, in person or online and utilize her training in psychology, family mediation, and motivational interviewing to compassionately guide difficult conversations. As a group, we will prioritize the values of safety, autonomy, and respect while we dig into tough questions and collaboratively create a Safety and Accountability Plan.

Join Rachel Kennedy as she supports your family, and external supports if desired (close friends, sponsors, religious mentors, etc.,), in finding answers to questions such as:

  • How can everyone in the home experience safety?

  • How can we support our loved one in their sobriety while also maintaining boundaries when necessary?

  • What does our new normal look like?

  • How will we focus on our own actions while also lovingly holding each other accountable if necessary?

  • What is our written plan for if things don’t go as we had hoped?

Rachel Kennedy is a Rule 114 Qualified Neutral through the state of Minnesota; has graduate level training in psychology, trauma, and substance use disorders; and has a personal history of substance use disorder in her family, including the recent death of her sister to a drug overdose. Her empathy and compassion fuel her passion to support other families in experiencing a better outcome in substance use treatment than her own family did.

Contact Rachel Kennedy today to find out how she can help you and your loved ones navigate substance use disorder.
